From a young age, Genevieve knew she wanted to work in health care. Not knowing exactly which of many available paths to take, she had her first massage and was convinced this was the career for her. Moving to Ottawa for massage school, she graduated from the massage therapy program at Algonquin College and has never looked back.

Genevieve's passion for the profession comes through in her interactions with clients and in her treatments. She loves to connect with clients, creating a truly personalized session to reach each individual's goals. Whether she is helping to reintegrate mind with body, soothing chronic pain, or rehabilitating an injury, Genevieve uses her considerable assessment and hands-on skills to provide the best care possible.

Having been a runner for years, Genevieve understands what injury can do to an athlete. While training for her first half marathon, Genevieve developed hip problems that halted her training. Through massage and dedicated homecare, she was able to get back to running and completed her half marathon with a personal best. Genevieve puts her own experience into practice in her work, and has helped many athletes with recovery, assisting them to move through injury and beyond, and back to what they love to do.

Genevieve's ongoing learning has also helped her develop a special interest in relieving neck pain. Having taken a cervical manipulation course, advanced head massage training, craniosacral therapy training, and a deep tissue course, Genevieve has had great success in treating headaches, chronic neck pain, postural issues, and cervical nerve compression. She has also added cupping massage to her areas of advanced study.

A Kingston native, Genevieve has fallen in love with Ottawa since moving here. In her spare time, you will find her running along the canal, spending time at her local yoga studio, or biking and hiking, enjoying the outdoor delights the city has to offer. She loves being part of the passionate group of massage therapists at Body Poets.
